The first question you should ask yourselves when considering an extension for Glass is: “Has he improved the most important things in the District – Student Growth and Achievement?”.
Unfortunately, you can’t answer those questions since he hasn’t been in his position long enough to have results that are directly due to his leadership.
You can’t even predict his performance in Jeffco based on what he did in Eagle, since he didn’t have stellar results there either.
All Jeffco has from Glass is a slick rework of Jeffco 2020, an unproven (anywhere) eduspeak mantra of “authentic task” teaching, a deceptively obtained 5A & 5B passing and a set of Performance and Growth objectives that Glass will NEVER achieve in Jeffco.
Glass hasn’t earned a 5 year extension!
Make him prove that he is actually making real, measurable, headway on the most important things in the District – Student Growth and Achievement before rewarding him. Until then, he doesn’t deserve an additional 5 years. And if you give that to him you will, once again, prove that improving education in Jeffco is not your top priority.
